I did a search on Youtube

someone says:

This is a footage of the Monaco Circus and ther performers are from Russia. You can also see Prince Albert in the audience.
Nothing to do with China 2008

No, you're probably right. Still amazing though!

A Korean TV crew reportedly snuck into the rehearsals for the opening ceremony last week, filmed it and stuck it up on Youtube. Unsurprisingly, it's been taken down! :D

Yes, I know. That's how I came across the clip you posted :D

I was going to post it yesterday but for some reason, thought there was something not quite right about it, in that why would the Chinese be using to rather athletic European men in their opening ceremony? Upon further investigation, I found out it wasn't.

LOL you're more dedicated than I am then, I have to confess to not investigating further even though I did wonder at the (somewhat golden) European men.

I did find another clip that looked more realistic, but do you think I can find it again??

I liked yours, too. :) It looks like the stadium is alight at one point!

ETA : have you seen this one from North Korea?

Apparently the guys are Russian.

What did your other clip show?

It was the one i just edited into my previous post - from North Korea, definitely not Opening Ceremony material, but I'd like to have seen it from beginning to end from further away, I bet it made fairly spectacular viewing as well.

Past my bed time Im afraid, g'night. :)

The Russian guys really did amaze me! I sat here the whole 6 1/2 minutes catching flies I think!

Yep, I'm thinking along the same lines :o If there's one thing that countries like Russia, China and Korea are good at, it's big displays :D
