You are in the money in a competition ranked about 30th out of 35 left. You are Big Blind holding a K8 off suit. The small blind has been nicking your BB throughout the tournament. Everyone folds, the small blind raises. You have a good idea they are trying to steal with a sub standard hand.

i would never ever play a k8 unsuited.
Odds are that your up against an ace or at least something higher then a 8 so you will only have three outs at best.
If you feel you have to play it beacuse your getting bored of losing your blinds do a little raise(say double/triple the blind) and then fold if he raises you again at any point if you dont hit a king or two 8's drop.
In my opinion likes. k8us is a shit hand a really really shit hand. hell even if it was suited i wouldn't touch it.

Depends on relative stack sizes I guess.
Do you have enough to make him fold (i.e he's not already committed and your shove is big enough to give him bad odds to call with any two), do you cover him or the other way around, what's the ratio between your stack and the blinds?
I'm a cash game player mind. Tourneys aren't my specialty.

Without knowing stack sizes he may well of had the odds to call. But judging by the fact that rela had folded a lot he should well have taken the tight image into account.

The top one is great. It calculates the odds of a given hand against an opponents specific hand or range of hands.
thing is, on the occasion I was talking about, Q8 off suit.....
I would have lost with AK AJ A10 JJ 1010 or any other lower pair.
