I can't control my mouse and other weird things

Is there a way to disable the track pad?

not sure problem's fixed :hmm:
Reboot the Laptop and press F2 to enter the set up menu.

Then use Alt-P to scroll through the screens until you get to the page that mentions "Pointing Device". Use the left or right arrow keys to scroll through the options until you get to the one that says "PS/2 Mouse". Then reboot the Laptop by pressing the escape key. This should disable the trackpad.

Right, I've done that, but too soon to tell if mouse is going to go doolally again. Shall I touch the trackpad or will that enable it again and fuck it up again?

Looking good so far. Just went into computer management screen and it didn't have an epileptic fit and open it up dozens of times, but I've spoken too soon too often on this thread so I think I'll wait 'til the morning and let you know then.

Goodnight

(and I just typed all of that and none of it disappeared)

Damn you helpful advice people, it's jumping around again :( i think something may have gotten spilled on the mat and be splitting the laser everywhere... time for some hot and soapy, should have tried that first!
