Why can some people do smart and some just not?

I just look sloppy and at best still not quite right on the very rare occasions that I've ever attempted 'smart'.

Is it down to 'attitude'?

I think it could be down to comfort tbh. If you don't feel comfortable coz you are 'pretending' to be smart it'll show to some extent imo.
Maybe you could have a few practice sessions? One smart day a month til the wedding, sorted
