I bought a ben sherman shirt...

after reading this thread, not for the first time am i glad i take no notice of labels if it makes you stereotype people as 'thugs' who just happen to wear a certain shirt.

you're a total snob Orang, just admit it for once and for all. :p

i've never denied it :p

I'd like to say you can't wear a Ben Sherman without braces but actually I do now. It comes to us all . . .,

Just make sure no one looks at your bird funny.

OI OI !

A very good shirt back in the day - well cut and stylish..............until britpop exploded and it was championed by oasis and co and it became the standard going out shirt in the mid 90's and slowly became part of the shinny shoe/shirt brigade that would large it in town on a saturday night.....as pointed out above drinking shed loads of stella and scrapping

probably 'cool' again now tho

I have one from somewhere around the late 80s-early 90s. I'll need to spend three years on an NHS ward to get close to fitting it again though.

OI !

I've got one for work. It's alright. Slightly different from yer usual M&S blokes work shirt stuff.

I don't feel the need for therapy because of this.

Personally, I don't associate Ben Sherman shirts with skinheads, I think of it more of a mod thing. But then I vaguely recall there was a shop on Cross Street in Manchester that was a shrine to all things mod. Mod is something I was more familiar with than skinhead stuff as a teenager.

I just Googled Ben Sherman +mod and apparently it was a skinhead thing in the early 70s but associated with mod by a 1979 revival.

Ben Shermans have far more of an association with skinheads/suedeheads than any other fashion sub-culture surely?!
Ben Shermans and Harrington jackets are de rigeur on the Saturday night, pint and a fight circuit in small towns across the nation :)

It's just one of those things that True Skins will have to put up with (or go and bash the heads of said street brawlers until they stop wearing the same clothes)

That being said though, they're just shirts - I owned a Ben Sherman blue and red ginghamy check design shirt until I sort of Incredible Hulked out of it after putting on a bit of shoulder muscle (it was very tight on me beforehand....)

I'm wearing precisely this Ben Sherman shirt as I post this (I'm the one with the bass on the right) :)

Sadly, many of our beloved fashion icons are being robbed by scummy little fag ash fucks out for nothing but the lash, a bash and some booze soaked gash.

I'm ashamed to see the mighty harrington jacket upon the backs of the squirty little tykes...

...they'll have our Levi's next as soon as they grow out of their track suit bottoms.

does this mean i will start drinking bottled stella and offering people outside for a fight?
No. It doesn't. But you might make people a bit bog-eyed and give them a headache if you were videoed while wearing it. :p

Oh! I clicked on the photo and got the pop-up multi-view.

 If you look long enough at view 6,, it's like a magic eye picture... I'm sure I saw a mermaid and a dolphin and a unicorn... :D

A lad I know-a skinhead-has a shop and is selling Harringtons day and daily to various little scrotes.
