Awful flat light, take ages to get up to full brightness.

I've tried to like them, I really have, but until the technology advances to sort out the colour temperature issues, and they make ones that work with dimmers, I'm sticking with incandescent ones.

They light they give off is really nasty, flat and dull, they take fucking ages to get up to brightness, and you can't use them with dimmers.

Waste of time until they improve the technology.

I rather like the golden-yellow light from the newer ones.

I bought a switch-dimmable 20 watt CFL as an experiment - I have to admit they're a bit silly .... but there will be some proper ones available before long.

Personally I use multiple lamps anyway.

I can't wait for magnetic induction (electrode-less) fluorescents.
