I am willing to admit that Joshua Tree was a good album

Christ yeah. I once had a dust up with a load of Air Supply fans. Nasty. And I'm not even going into that rumble with TOTO obsessives that I narrowly escaped from
Mad but harmless, like bus station tramps.

my mate did the sound on a Toto tour. Started off dreading it, by the end he, i dunno, 'a lot of respect for their musicianship'.

shudder
Africa rocks.

It is also nearly impossible to sing at Karaoke.

I find his singing and the trademark guitar thing on there grating plus the fact that I've heard the tracks hundreds of times but never voluntarily. Musically, not a patch on the Sugarbabes.

I think most clowns are dead inside. Entertaining through slapstick day-in day-out. It would drive one to suicide. In fact I'd go a far as to say J.W. Gacy wouldn't have done those evil things if he'd just left the clowning alone. Clowns= intrinsicaly predisposed to evil

But which came first with Gacy: the urge to facepaint, or the urge to kill?

I'd say he was driven to murder after realising how essentialy humiliating it is to dress up in silly clothes and make up, just to entertain children. Marylin Manson alas, has not learned from Gacy's folly

But let's face it: Gacy had to be the world's worst clown. It's like he painted the words 'serial killer' on his face with white and red paint.

But the real treat was JC2's ultra-naive agreement with him afterwards.

Oh, I get it: soulman is actually one of the U75 musical elite, and he was doing a parody of a cultural know-nothing as an amusement for the other elite members.:)

I really should read these very important threads more closely, shouldn't I?:o

It was a good'un too
its in my top 10 albums ever. i've listened to it at least 100 times...but not within the last number of years.

another one in my top ten ever is Cosmic Thing by the B-52s :D

and Physical Graffiti by The Zep

and Wish You Were Here by The Floyd

i like it

most of the songs are good. not partiularly meaningful, but nice singalong stuff

isn't it one of those albums you buy when you are 16 and play on repeat and then forget about?

i think having a favourite album ever is stupid

i have a favourite album for when i was 21, and a favorite song for waking up, and a favourite album for drinking whisky and missing my gf etc

but just to make a best album ever list.....
