they do this??

My god. I thought they just asked folk, I didn't know there was a sales pitch and show.

it is quite boring i guess, but then I live in Streatham, I don't go out there. As long as the shops and facilities etc are good - and they are, and the transport connections are ok (and they are - i think Streatham is served brilliantly by buses.. ) then I'm happy. I go out elsewhere.

I lived there about 8 or 9 years ago so many things will have changed. My most vivid memory is coming back from town with a rare record that I had pretty much been looking for all my life and breaking it by mistake at traffic lights without ever hearing it.

That and waiting so long for a bus to take me to Clapaham that I missed lots and lots of perfectly good drinking time.

Streatham has about a zillion buses running through it now - almost as well served as Brixton in fact.

And what were you doing getting a bus to Claam? It's only a 40 minute walk or so :p

I don't understand how that stays open :D

There are indeed a million buses, Kyse, but only one or two to Clapham I think. Luckily I never need to go there :)

There's a good bookshop/head shop - Broken Arrow, I think it's called.

They sell 2 packs of OCB slims for £1 - fuckload better value than 90p for a packet of king size silver Rizlas and I prefer OCB anyway.

I think it's a christian bookshop isn't it????

Nah, altho in fairness I don't go out late at night in Streatham so would probably be less likely to be approached by such a lady.

Last 'ho' I got approached by was at the t junction of Hillside and Christchurch road and while I hesitate to use the words 'skanky crack ho' my abilty to be positive in my description eludes me...

Oh yeah, I reckon some of the coffee shops as you go down the hill towards the common are a bit dodge...few blokes hanging around in them all day, glares and strange looks if you go in for a coffee etc...

No, that's near Streatham Station - they sell "The Story of the Bible" puzzles for little kids...

*shudder*

Broken Arrow is a headshop + druggie bookshop.

I was in a rush, I stupidly thought a bus would be quicker. My mates lived in Clapham and if I walked the swarms of prostitues would get me.

Is that the shisha place? My flatmate says they sell hash at the counter...

Ah ha, so that IS the place I was told about last night...

Best keep it a bit quiet tho - GMTV twat journalists might be reading this and do a 'Greenleaf' exposé on the place.

It's ok, you know my flatmate, he says M&S do crack at the counter.....

This is not just Brixton street crack, this is pure Mayfair gold pavement crack etc etc..."

'This isn't any Cocaine

This is best Colombian flake, organically produced by happy farmers, with a sparkly yellow glint that feels like ice cream in your nose....'

Apparently Dervla Kirwin isn't doing the VOs anymore...

tbh, it's never really been 'down''.

in "relocation, relocation" terms, "up-and-coming" probably means "just about affordable - buy before starbucks moves in".

i've not seen any prostitutes as of yet, to be honest

Streatham's fine as is. I hope it doesn't 'up and come' too much cos then it'll be full of posh twits and part of the reason I moved here was to get away from those idiots. The only place I ever get a bit of trouble is round the Sackville Estate on Leigham Avenue and round that part of the High Road and the part near the dip. Though there are some classic tossers hanging around Leigham Court Road who I wouldn't want to come across on my own.

I think you may be best advised to edit these posts a little. Giving so many details on this board and naming the place is a step too far....
