Which it may do. Fucking Windows 10.

    So far:
My Bluetooth speaker doesn't work with it (the sound fades in and out)
    Chrome won't install
An essential piece of open source software won't execute to install (I just get a prompt to pick an stupidarse app to open it with)
Office 2010 which I paid for throws an error message when I try to install it

    I still need to:
Set up email from my own domain, haha
Work out some kind of virus/firewall thing and get McAfee to stop pissing me off
    Install Creative Suite 5.5
    Set up the work VPN

It's been sitting on my kitchen table for about a month with me unable to face it all but it's a bit of an expensive paperweight.

There is nothing like Microsoft to make you miss Google.

You know you can chat to a Windows tech guy via the phone or online chat from your machine? I spent two hours fixing the sound that disappeared after an upgrade and they got it fixed in the end.

What reason do you get for Chrome not installing?

This is because Google take UX seriously. ie they actually do some.

I've sorted Chrome now... gradually ticking them off the list.

Work VPN should be easy, depending on the hardware at the other end.
Get rid of McAfee with the consumer products removal tool. Don't try and uninstall from the windows add remove thing in control panel. It's notorious for leaving stuff behind. Run CCLeaner afterwards too to make sure it's all gone then switch on Windows Defender.

Miraculously most of my problems disappeared after downloading Firefox and ditching Edge :hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm:

All set up now. I've still got two problems I haven't been able to get to the bottom of though.

One is that when I mouse over a thread title I no longer see a preview of the first post. This only seems to apply to urban, or presumably rather Xenforo, but is the same on both Chrome and Firefox.

The other is that videos on Firefox all come with a green stripe down them.
