Hurrah! The 2nd series of Lost starts tonight!

Just wondering if anyone else was looking forward to it like?

I've been watching ther re-runs on e4 for the last couple of weeks, trying to get a better idea of what's going on an' that, but I'm no more clearer really. Still, who cares? It's still dead good telly, even if I don't have a scooby.

... and still nothing happens in series 2!!!!!!!!

Something must happen. They aren't just going to sit around doing nothing, saying nothing, are they :p

Did you think "nothing happened" in Series 1 though? ;)

Nothing is really revealed. Sure you have the never ending character development still and the first few episodes cover the bunker they find and thats quite interesting but it (in my opinion) just still drags on and on without actually revealing much about wtf is going on.

I don't expect much of it to ever be resolved satisfactorily. I'm just enjoying the absurdity of it and the occasional bit of action. I'm also waiting for another appearance of John Locke's hair in a flashback scene. I fully anticipate the hair to have escaped his head and made a life for itself. Perhaps the hair is behind the plane crash and the polar bears.

Oh! Oh!
I am looking forward to this! :D

John Locke is a great character.
Sawyer...MMMmmmmmm
Sayid....MMmmmmm
And Charlie is so sweet.
Kate's cool.

It's a fun, easy to watch programme.

I've seen the first few episodes and can thoroughly recommend it. I got a bit bored with series 1 but seeing the new series reignited my interest in the show. Can't wait

Quite. I generally don't have a clue what's going on in many aspects of my life, so it certainly isn't going to get in the way of me enjoying top telly like Lost!

Who cares? Anyone who's watched Alias knows that JJ Adrams doesn't wrap things up neatly in begining, middle and end.

Shows how storytelling that's similar to life isn't that interesting tho, from some perspectives innit?

Agreed, it's really well put together. A cool blend of soap opera cheese and Twin Peaks-ish oddness.

I have really tried to get into this, eventually watched the first episodes that my mate had taped, but I can't like it, don't know why, same thing happened with "Friends" as well, everyone was raving about it but I couldn't see what the fuss was about.

Did no-one else feel ripped off by ep2?
Replay of ep1 with extra detail + the raft. And the reason they couldn't be a single episode?

GS(v)

*sigh* I got high on booze straight after work without any tea, so I understood even less than usual of the first epidsode, and fell asleep not far into the second episode

Thank goodness for the repeat on sunday!

I'm glad I went to bed early and missed episode two, by the sounds of it I didn't miss much...

nope, episode 1 with a few more camera angles.

in fact i spent most of episode 2 confused because (stupidly) i didnt immediately realise that we'd gone backwards

*refuses to read anything about ep2 as have recorded it for tonight*

I have to admit, a mate of mine informed me that this is planned for 8 series'

I lost interest then (no pun intended) it'll do my fucking head in WAY before series 8 :(

tbh i'm not sure i have enough interest for two series.

i made a commmittment to series one, i made sure i saw it. i got offered series two on dvd/d/loads etc but i decided that part of the attraction is seeing it along with everybody else so you can work things out together.

now its finally arrived i find i dont really care all that much anymore.

I think it's great - just as good a start as S1 in fact.

And ep 2 is hardly ep 1 with 'more camera angle' - it provides more backstory to Michael and fills in the blanks with the Hatch sequence...ever accuse an author of poor narrative when they switch time lines/scenes and look at the story from the perspective of different characters?

Loved the Hason stuff too...pity C4 aren't putting up the same websites as ABC did really...

is pretty good , but be careful of spoiling it for yourself.....

and wiskey ( i think it was you who posted that you might not have enough interest for 2 series , ) hang in there it gets much better ( but as someone else also said , we still havent a clue whats going on by ep19 of series 2 ):)

ive also heard of a lost ' experience ' interactive on line game that has something to do with this www.thehansofoundation.org

ooooooooh !!!

I really can't be arsed to get into another unfulfilling series of Lost, so was planning not to watch either episode. I did watch the second one and am happy to report that I remain resolutely unengaged. If it felt like there was any kind of coherent planning at all behind the series, instead of just randomly throwing unconnected ideas and lame conspiracy theories at a collection of cardboard cut outs, I would still care.

Sawyer is hot, though, so I might pop back now and again for some of that.

seriously , stick with it , as it goes on , i think were going to find that none of the ' unconnected ideas ' are unconnected at all , its just going to take a while to find out why :)

Hmmm, I'll take your word for it, but the last series really did piss me off - not even so much because it was frustrating not to know what's going on, but because the programme makers themselves don't seem to have a clue what's supposed to be going on, and the quality of the writing and character development (with a few notable exceptions) was so poor that it didn't compensate for the nonsensical aspects.

ok i see where yore coming from with that last point , but ive just read a synopsis / spoilers for the series 2 finale ( 2 weeks time in the states or for those with bit-torrents :D )

im not going to give anything away apart from by the end of the ( double ) episode we will find out much more about how everybody in the show is connected........................................

but then we will probably end up having a lot more questions

and yes i know im sad :o ;)
