Huge problem with my sons career advice

Having said that, and not many people on here will like this, perhaps he could do a bit in the services. You grow up fast (some say to fast) and get a bit of motivation/work ethic/confidence

The armed forces you mean? You do have to agree to killing people in exchange for money though. That bit's quite important imo.

WoW, if he is actually good at it, will have taught him a whole load of stuff about leadership, motivation, teamwork etc which are all v. transferable skills - I guess its just about finding a real world application for them.

What about the exploring the games industry, if he's into gaming. With gaming becoming more and more mainstream lots of ops are opening up doing bits and bobs.

The games industry is supposed to be a complete nightmare to work in atm... Physics, maths, mechatronics, mechanical engineering etc will lead to far more rewarding work.

you could join the navy most of them float about in big grey ships playing with things that go bleep sinking the odd drug ship and surrendering to the iranians:D
Or the RAF apart from biggles and co and the RAF regiment who like to think there in the army. spend there time fixing aeroplanes an frankly nobody lets them have access to firearms or sharp pointy things:D

cancel his WoW, cut off his social internet, stop doing his homework, reward what he does well and he'll only hate you for a little while. Otherwise you'll be doing him a disservice and he'll be doing resits if he decides he does want a job.
