So, back to what the thread is all about .....
This is (was) a brand spanking new development of flats next to Barnet Police Station, built on part of what was RAF Hendon (my husband was stationed there for four years, and our son goes to school 100 yards away). We have been watching this being built for the last 10 months or more .... my husband commenting every time (Every Freaking Time!) that it was almost entirely wood not brick, and if there were a fire in one of the flats the whole place would go up.
Boy is he feeling smug.
I drove past it this morning (Saturday), two fire engines still in attendence, place is completely destroyed. They have only this week taken down the hoardings around the place to attract would-be buyers.
