Huge fire at Notre Dame cathedral, Paris

Half to the Tower, please.
I was reading about how desperate they are for funds to save it just 2 days' ago. If they can limit the damage in this fire, and I realise how big an if that might be, it could end up being a strangely serendipitous event, prompting the type of state aid and fundraising for a proper restoration.

A suspiciously strangely serendipitous event :hmm: if we want to get truly alliterative about it.

But no. Fucking terrible. :(

Edit “potentially linked to renovation work”. How’s that for irony.

Notre Dame 2050 will be the two towers at the front and some variety of Norman Foster glass and steel supershed with a crap memorial fountain.
