My brother's just got one: they make a really good product.

That is an amazing stat. I don't even remember seeing much advertising for them either, and I have a TV, use the internet and like (and buy) smartphones so I'm hardly outside their demographic.

I'd never heard of them before I got my Magic, and now I have a Desire. They have both been good, solid and reliable devices, and I rate the Sense software too, it's better than the Motorola or Samsung homebrew. I do worry* for them a bit in the patent wars, they don't have much to trade with compared to the likes of Apple. Google will probably back them up though.

    * not actually worry, to be clear, but they are vulnerable.

They make quality hardware...when I pick up other phones they seem cheap and plasticy in comparison.
