it's encouraging from a West Ham POV. A lot of the prem has looked unimpressive this close-season...

Read their forums of course and panic buttons were being hit by some - not all by any stretch tho, tbf. No-one was claiming it was a second-string or whatever that I saw.
Best thing for us apparently was this CM from Histon in the summer, Mat Mitchell-King. Solid all round MoM performance topped off with a run halfwau upfield for our last goal. I'm saying top seven finish for def now. Will reverse that once real stuff starts, of course.

Shuffled upstairs now; he's still a director and I think technically director of football but keeps his nose mostly out AFAIK - we had a youth coach understudy take over but it didn't go well and since midway through last season have had Gudjon Thordarsson ex of Iceland, Stoke et al. He started well dragging us off bottom but couldn't stave off relegation in the end.
You had our old boy Dean Ashton - terrible shame injuries have stuffed his potential. Was a gem of a player and could have been just what England need.
I couldn't agree more about Deano.
