How to kill Dandelions from the lawn

The weeds have grown 2" in 2 days  and are turning black. :) The grass is so far unaffected. :)

*fingers crossed*

yep, the weeds will grow like buggery, that's what the weedkiller does

e2a: makes the weeds grow so fast they overdo it and die is what I mean. there'd be no point to weedkiller if it just made them grow better than before, would there?

I wasn't sure if it was the 'feed' part of the treatment that made them grow like mad.

Got it cut yesterday it was 4" high.

That's one nice bit of lawn!

Actually, just cutting it is a bloody good start. If you cut it twice a week (weather permitting) through the summer, the grass won't mind (quite the contrary), but the weeds will suffer from being constantly chopped off in their prime every time they try to get a stalk up good and high.

Ideally, you're cutting it with a mower that doesn't flatten down all the "bents" (long stalks) just before it cuts them, the way a Flymo tends to - in a perfect world, if you're bothered about making it a decent lawn, get a reasonable cylinder mower and use that. Good exercise, too...

Apart from the weeds and all the lumps and bumps. :(

I'm knackered enough after cutting it with a flymo. :(

Ahem, I refer my Honourable Friend to the answer I gave some moments ago:

Have you ever fallen into a full-sized gorse bush at all. I have, and it's not something I'd like to repeat either.

GORSE IS THE FLOWER OF THE DEVIL AND SO MUST DIE!

burning gorse is a really bad idea the shit comes back 10 times bigger etc

It's all over Dartmoor where I grew up, having to be pulled out of a fully grown gorse bush is a 'memorable' experience, I can assure you.

Even the six pints of scrumpy I'd had didn't kill the pain. And you know it hurts when that much scrumpy has no effect.
