I missed all the other suggestions, maltesers, strawberry edging went with a boring haphazard scattering... thought I'd get too stressed trying to make a pretty pattern, because I was pushed for time

See where you've gone wrong there, is 'fessing up to the random scattering. You should have told us that it is a magic eye picture and if we can't see what it is that's our failing.

They were blackcurrants, and a bit tart, so thought they'd prefer more strawberries
