A Thali is basically lots of small dishes to make up one dish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thali

Usually about 7 quid each from The Chutney or somewhere similar.

Last one I had was: Lamb Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Aloo Gobi, Naan, Raita and a Tandoori Chicken Leg and Kebab.

e2a ^^im joking. so here's a smilie :)

I know, it did sound kind wanky didn't it :o (true though).

If we had a good fish and chip place near here then it would be take away tea more often than it is.

Oh and yes B you are right. The crispy duck is heavenly but its not worth ordering it just for that as I would still be hungry after.

Hardly used to bother, cos was never happy with the standard of food, but having recently discovered a fucking brilliant Indian takeaway place (£5 for a curry, and it's actually enough for two meals, even for a greedy fucker like me, and they deliver) it's about 2 or 3 times a month now

It doesn't cost that much to order in!!

Depends on your income though. Imo chinese is overpriced and I agree with Kitty's opinion.

We're more likely to go to the chippie but I really want to go to the Indian in the town again. It's ace and reasonably priced too.

I'm not sure anyone delivers where we are and I usually can't be bothered driving in to get summat.

The idea of takeaway pizza is very bizarre to me. Only ever done that in London, before secretsquirrel left for the west country!!

Yeah, of course it depends on your income. Fish and Chips is still what? £6 each? so £18 for 3 of us. If I go and buy 3 steaks from the supermarket and everything to go with it, same price.

I could go veggie and eat really cheaply but no fucking chance :D:D

It used to be once a month or less, but now I'm working in a knackering job it's more like three times a month due to (a) knackeredness (b) less time to plan meals and shop for food - no convenient shops on my commute and (c) more cash.

Yeah fish and chips isn't cheap - if you want cheap go for a pie or sausage or something.

I don't see takeaways as being that expensive tbh. I've never earned a lot and have always managed to eat too many anyway.

Yup, IME the price of takeaways varies greatly round the country. Here, the price of takeaway pizza tends to beggar belief compared to other places.

Chippers are ok value whilst Indian & Chinese are usually much better value IME & both, but particularly chinese have undergone a significant evolution for the better in the last few years, with the emphasis on freshness & quality ingredients/cooking.

This is what £5 gets you in a good chipper here:

Which is pretty reasonable value. :)

Visitor arrived, couldn't be bothered cooking, so we went to the chipper last night - fine excuse! :D

That looks a tasty piece of fish. There doesn't appear to be many chips though.

If it cost me £18 to fed the 3 of us every night we'd starve :D
You shop in the wrong places or eat expensively imo.
I wouldn't thank you for supermarket meat either :hmm:

Used to be 2 or 3 times midweek and always on Friday nights. Cut down after I had a few dud meals and started cooking. I still have the occasional one usually if I'm working late

We cook most days.Or I get fed at most squats I frequent.Rarely have the money to fork out for one huge unhealthy meal (i always do pizza leftovers though).
