How often do you clean the toilet?

Once a week - have done whereever I lived since I left home.

But is bleach good for the bog? Any alternatives?

Vinegar and / or Bicarb should be fine if you're cleaning reasonably often, its what I use & its fine .

Having said that, I keep the holder for my bogbrush full of diluted bleach to keep the brush clean, so the bog gets a mini bleach-scrub whenever I use it.

I also 'let it mellow if its yellow' but I keep a bottle of diluted vinegar next to it, & give it a good squirt of that instead of flushing. (But I do always flush properly if there's anyone else around).

Now I've written all that, my cleaning habits, which I thought were basic, actually seem quite complicated .

I see none of my flatmates have voted on this thread though Zora has bought a bog brush so maybe she's cleaning it! In fact I might go and clean the bathroom after I've finished eating pineapple out of the tin (saves on washing up)

Vinegar and bicarb tip sounds interesting though Zora might not be happy if I tip her balsamic vinegar down the loo.

I'm not sure which is worse, a loo that smells of shit and piss or one that smells of bleach and vinegar

I'm glad I've not owned a toilet of my own for a lot of years.

I think the only time I've cleaned a toilet is when I've been paid for it.

I clean the Bathroom if it seems unclean; it is a wet room so that is more often that in a normal bathroom. About once a month but I do live with 4 other people, even so I'm sure only one other person cleans the bathroom ever and she is much more diligent than I.

hmm - i give it a clean when i do the bathroom, which tends to be a dust thing. maybe every fortnight.

how can i say this? - my waste doesn't seem to stick. I have a rim block thing too - so i rarely have to scrub the bowl - but i do below the water line cos of the limescale, and the seat etc.

i live on my own though - which helps keep it clean. i don't have toothpaste stuck to the sink either.

about every 2 weeks. can't be arsed to clean every week. everything gets done at once in a frenzy for an hour or so, and then it's done for another little while.

people who like cleaning or spend more than an hour a week doing it are mad, imo.
