How much you spent on music over your life/ in the past year?

a) Records ai) brandnew aii) second hand
£1300

b) Play-back hardware (stereos headphones etc)
£500
c) Concert/festival tickets
£700

d) Music-making equipment (instruments tuners "Future Music style" gadgetry etc)
£1200

e) Anything else like blank tapes (CDs now), books specifically about music, download fees, perhaps even repairs.

£100

All pretty rough guesses. A lot of the music making equipment has been sold on now, but I included it anyway.

Nothing came up on a search- apologies if this has been done.

Out of general interest not scientific.

Shit, I've just realised my original estimate was purely what I'd spent on records/CDs over the years. I hadn't even considered the money I've spent on (b) through to (e)...

That'll probably increase the total figure by another couple of grand.

*weeps* :o

thousands of pounds over the years but don't have to pay to go to most gigs anymore which is nice but still go to Fopp every Friday for a weekend CD binge..looking forward to it already :)

Over the last three years I've spent about £8000 on black crack... sorry, vinyl, all second hand. The kind of tunes I collect doesn't help either, a lot of it goes for silly money ('91 Belgian techno and '91-'93 breakbeat hardcore).

About a grand and a half on decks, amp, speakers etc.

Never bought concert tickets.

I enjoy reaping the rewards of copyright theft, so haven't spent a penny on production software. No hardware, no need with the kind of stuff I'm making.

Interesting topic, good to see u75's got a healthy amount of black crack addicts lurking about :)

As Willie Dixon says in a spoken part in the Howlin' Wolf record "Goin' Down Slow"- " If I had kept the money I'd already spent I'da bin a millionaire looong time ago" Just add "on records" to "already spent" and that about sums it up for me
