I missed them too, but I did have a ticket for the queen is dead tour - but my dad grounded me for not walking the dog :(

I've never forgiven him.

I put sell my house/anything. I can say this for 2 reasons- I have nothing of value and it will never happen.

But... if it did I would do my bestest to get tickets.

Let's face it.;. its like the Heritage Industry in music form.. another 10 years and they could be at Butlins.

Actually give me a Smiths tribute band anyday.. be less contrived than seeing the Smiths 20 years later..

..iyswim.

I saw the reformed Dinosaur Jr a couple of months ago. But they'd just released a new album that was as good as the three classic albums, and better than the ones without Lou Barlow. So I guessed they'd be good, and they were.

A Dashing Blade, baffled, Barking_Mad, BLOCwknd, ChrisFilter, copliker, Dask, electroplated, gabi, JTG, jusali, kyser_soze, maomao, May Kasahara, Monkeygrinder's Organ, moomoo, skyscraper101, Structaural, treefrog, twisted, Unix Tottie, wiskey

all made of sane :)

Yes but you probably like the pop will eat itself, Carter, and the other rubbish youngsters your age go in for.

I missed them in Glasgow when I was 17. I'm pulled both ways on this.
I love the smiths but wonder if I would be disapointed or blown away.
I doubt I'd feel anything but one of these two options and the risk of being disapointed leaves me wondering if I'd get a ticket.

I'm glad to see so many people concur with me. I always thought they were dreadful but they always appeared to be one of these 'sacred cow' bands that you can't knock

i dig Morrissey! thankfully he's huge in LA and plays all the time. As for the Smith's...good luck..they'll never getting back again

If you want to see a tribute band then I believe The Smyths are good - <sold out gig when i tried to see them>
I saw them at Jamm awhile back and they were fantastic.

I even think editor put aside his tribute band prejudices that night. :D

I though they'd already turned down £50 million to do it.

it's never going to happen and that's probably a good thing too.
