He might do. That doesn't really support the idea that more money means better football generally.
The alternative argument is that more money makes footballers complacent and arrogant, and so they play worse. There's at least as much truth in that IMO.
Load of bollocks - Ronaldo (not a fan of him of his club) is one of the highest paid footballers in Europe (which also means the highest in the World) and, at the moment , is playing as well as any other footballer on the planet.
Anyone want to try and argue that Terry or Rooney or Gerrard would play better if they were paid less ?
Why do people always pick on footballers - what about Schumacher last season in F1 - £20m for 17 races and he does it sitting on his arse. What about some boxer getting a few million dollars for a fight that could be over inside the first round. It's supply and demand.
There's very few really top flight players but there's a whole raft of journeymen at clubs like Portsmouth and Bolton who say "Terry", for example, "is on £50k a week so I should be on £25k" when there's dozens of players who could take their place without anyone noticing the difference.

So, arguably, the amounts of money that the journeymen you described are already paid has made them arrogant and complacent enough to believe they are worth being paid more simply because someone else they play against already is?
