How much should I charge to design a site?

. I just wanted to find out what market rate for a small site is.

tbh I don't think there's a set price for site with X pages.
People pay you for what it'll mean in terms of adding value to their business / your time / experience / skills etc.. that's what you need to use quote (realistically!).

The last job i was paid for I got £1k of vinyl flooring.

A furniture making friend of mine has just paid about £700 for a seven page site with lots of click and open in new window photos, nothing fancy but a pro job nicely done.
