How much is the average water bill?

£90 for 4 months on my last bill (Family of three). This is only because they always estimate its going to be really high, whenever they do a meter reading they find out it's really low and we are always in credit (I only pay £10 a month DD and am still £40 in credit after the last bill in Feb).

I just paid our water bill for the august - feb period and it was £75. This strikes me as quite cheap. I had it in my mind it was £25 a month. What is it normally?

around $15 a month or so but its billed quarterly

No metre, no. I'll ring them up. I got my BGas lowered by saying 'I'm single in a little flat and my mate has a mantion flat in Chelsea with a lodger and pays less!' :D

I'm in a one bed flat and pay £31 per month. Myself and other tenants are going to get meters fitted and then try to reclaim some money as a class action. We think its cos we have communal boiler.

I'm a single person in a one bedroomed flat, and I pay nearly £30 a month.

I'm sure it'd be far cheaper if I had a meter fitted, but previous enquiries to my (Housing Association) landlord have typically fallen on very deaf ears.:mad:

You all sound similar to me. I was about £25/£30 a month for one person in a one-bed flat. You need to arrange for someone to come out to see if you can fit a meter (which will be cheaper than this). If they then can't fit a meter - in my case it was because the place they'd fit it was all boxed in by the kitchen - they'll then re-assess your amount based on an estimate of what the meter would probably cost. I'm now more like £15 a month much better, but they only do this, after they've looked into getting a meter.

You can ask fill in a form online to get someone to come out to do an assessment (certainly with Thames water). It was quite easy.

Just had a look at my water bill from Thames Water - rarely do as I pay by DD..

Its averaging just under £30 a month, but weirdly says the amount of water I'm using is the equivalent of drinking 196,000 cups of tea.. or 613 baths.. over the last 6 months..

Even by my standards this seems slightly excessive..

I assume you do other things with water than drink tea and take a bath.

average daily use of 140 gallons costs me approximately $35 per month plus about $12 in monthly tariffs and other fees
