This. It's logical. None at all and it'll be too dry to eat. Put it on just one side and it'll be so lopsided the filling will probably fall off, or eating it will make you dizzy.I think it's just normal tbf.
Butter is just plain wrong - one side, both sides, liberally slathered about ones person, all WRONG WRONG WRONG!
Peanut butter is gut wrenching vile anyway, irrespective of other butter related concerns.
Dervish is an evil, evil person...![]()

Both slices of bread of course.
I never knew there were people who did it differently......
If this thread is teaching me one thing it's that people will never agree on anything, full stop.I never knew there were people who did it differently......
It's never happened but I would probably punch them. Even strangers know from the way I watch them when they make it that they'd better butter both sides.i always feel alittle short changed by people who only butter one slice when they make me a sandwich![]()
Depends on the sandwich for me.
If I am having mayonnaise or mustard on the sandwich then no butter. If no other liquidy, spready type product then butter.
If sandwich toasted, always butter.

my mum puts butter on her toast like cheese on a cracker.![]()
none. butter on sandwiches is wrong.
I always thought it was odd why they always ask you in the sandwich shop if you want any butter. Now I know why. Freaks.
What are people's views on the use of butter on cheese on toast?
Yep.not needed on cheese on toast.
what about jacket potatoes?
none. butter on sandwiches is wrong.
None.
I don't make sandwiches very often but I never put butter or spread on bread, I don't like the taste and the way it seems to stick round your teeth.
I just like the filling on it's own.

On how many sides?![]()
peanut butter is butter though! it's 'butter (caution: may contain nuts)'
If it is going on at all it will always go on both.

No butter!!! What for?
And butter on peanut butter?! Eh?
