How Much Booze Have You Got In Right Now?

We're quite light on booze at the moment - just four bottles of red wine and a bottle of champagne that is for when I bring the baby home. It's gathering dust on the sideboard, looking forlorn :( Much like myself :D

Put it in the fridge!

Does it turn you blue?

i don't drink, but i have a bottle of red wine. i also have a bottle of wine that's been open for months. really must throw it out.

10 gallons of homemade wine in the garage (about 60 bottles), a dozen bottles of conventional wines, 1litre of Scotch (brother in law buys me one every year - gets used for hot whiskeys when someone's got a cold), 4 litres of assorted German Schnapps, maybe a dozen cans, 2 bottles of Absinthe and some novelty spirits and liqueurs.

If you knock Absinthe back quickly, it's not like being pissed, I found.

It's sort of euphoric, quite energised for a bit. Then you rapidly descend into awful tequila-slammer-dribbling-and-soiling-yourself territory.

There's probably a fine line to be trod that's quite nice but I'm buggered if I've ever found it.

I have a not bad spirits collection but nothing compared to Athos:
1 bottle Becherovka
1 bottle Chartreuse (green)
1 bottle Strega
1 bottle Kahlua Especial
1 bottle Amaretto
1 bottle Cointreau
1 bottle Picon
1 bottle Zubrowka
1 bottle Brandy
1 bottle Single Malt
1 half bottle JD

Some wines:
2 bottles Pedro Ximenez sherry
3 bottles of delicious red wine
1 bottle delicious white wine
1 bottle delicious port

But tragically I have no beer at the moment.

I'd trade you 3 or 4 of our beers for a bottle of sherry but Mr. QofG's doesn't understand the delights of a glass - or more - of fortified wine!

  • About 20 bottles of various French reds.
  • About 20 bottles of various French whites
  • 18 bottles of home-made wines (elderberry, elderflower and blackberry)
  • 22 pints of home-made bitter (4.5%ABV)
  • 1 pint of last year's Xmas ale (7.5% ABV)
  • 43 pints strong homebrew cider (8.5%ABV)
  • 2 half-full bottles of mandarin brandy
  • 1.5 bottles of armagnac
  • Half a bottle of Tesco "cooking brandy"
  • A bottle of home-made sloe gin.
  • 2 bottles Bombay Sapphire gin
  • half a bottle of Calvados
  • 3 bottles of some Badger ale of some description
  • 3 litres Breton cider
  • Small bottle raspberry liqueur we bought in Lulworth
  • 1 bottle advocaat from last Christmas
  • 1 bottle creme de cassis
  • 1 bottle creme au framboises
Do I win? You caught us at a bad time - just back from France, and me just bottling a big batch of cider. Give us a month or two, and half of it will be gone :D

I am off the booze at the mo, cos out here in the countree the midwives suggest a booze-ban for the 'partners' in the final six weeks of pregnancy in case I have to drive me wife to the hospital.

Lying around to tempt me I have:

- About 35 bottles of (bought) wine, mostly red
- Three malts (in varous states of consumption): Laphroaig, Bowmore (12 yr) and Ardbeg
- Three bottles of port
- Nearly a full vodka
- Beefeater Gin
- A bottle of Jack Daniels someone brought to my stag do a year ago
- Half a bottle of Ballie Nichol Jarvie (blended whisky)
- 5 Gallons (ish) of homemade apple wine
- 8 single gallon demijons of elderberry and blackcurrant wine.

All homebrew is ready to drink/bottle.

About 3 cans of Fosters that someone left after a bbq, about a third of a bottle of Captain Morgans rum, and one bottle of cheap and nasty red wine gathering dust on top of the fridge. Bit of a poor show all round.

8 bottles of Bombay Sapphire (I often get it as a gift! Honest!)
1 bottle Tanqueray
1 bottle Sloe gin
10 or so bottles of red/white wine
6 cans Strongbow
3 bottles Champagne
1 unidentified purple liqueur from Spain
1/2 bottle vodka
1/3 bottle dark rum

As you can see, we don't drink a lot indoors. If we brought home all we drank when we were out, it would be a different story!

Hm, not a lot actually. Half-full bottles of Captain Morgan and Bombay Sapphire, litre of Smirnoff pretty much untouched, and some cachaça that I got duty free on a ferry to Norway ages ago. I don't really drink spirits much, only when making cocktails, which I only do at parties and this place is far too small to have a party in.

I should pop across the road to Majestic.

Quite a bit :o

4 bottles of tequilla, 2 of ouzo, 2 sambucca, 1 benedictine, 2 amaretto, 1 kahlua, 2 jack daniels, 2 vokda, 1 grand marnier, 2 triple sec, 4 port, 2 sherry (mainly for xmas and cooking), 3 madeira, 2 baileys, 2 limoncello, 1 pimms, 1 brandy, 6 white wines (mainly chardonnay for cooking cos i can't drink white wine anymore without feeling ill), about 40 bottles of various reds and about 20 of rose. Also a few bottles of cava and champagne which i also can't drink.

Lots of the wine was bought in a recent trip to Calais. But i drink wine regularly so it will go. The spirits  tbh i couldn't date a lot of them. I got custody of the drinks cabinet in my divorce :D 9 years ago, and most haven't been touched

:hmm: *makes note of best houses to 'pop in for a quick drink* :hmm:

Ahem. A small bottle of honey vodka (way too sweet - wish I'd bought more cherry vodka instead), a bottle of Zubrowka; half a bottle of cheap tequila (:D @ NVP - yup, it's the law!) - so cheap it has a plastic Mexican hat on the top - fuct reserves this strictly for the end of the evening when all other options are exhausted. And a supermarket own brand bottle of dark rum - this is used only for making my Christmas Crumble Muffins or for adding a hefty slug to hot chocolate (my emergency drink when all other options are exhausted!)

I also daren't keep wine in the house cos it won't ever last very long. The most I'll get is Threshers 3 for 2 and it's always a fight to try and make it last longer than one night! :o

:D My best friend brought two bottles of tequila back from Mexico. One was a high quality sipping tequila that she kept jealously guarded in her bedroom; the other was a large container of something called 'Buen Amigo' that resided in the communal kitchen :D I seem to remember the latter having a plastic hat.
