How many Urbanites do you know? And how?

I've met a few, always very sound people.

Amazingly though, none of my real life friends (who use the internet a lot) seem to have even heard of Urban.

See, I refuse to tell my real life friends about Urban. It's my little refuge. I don't want them all knowing about it.

I say refuge, I mean place to hang out with those less fortunate than myself.

In addition to Vintage Paw and going to an u75 meetup, I know a few other people on here.

I met psycherelic at university, and it turned out a while after we made friends that we both posted on urban, which was a strange coincidence.

Then there are a few others, Rbrtioh lives about 5 minutes away from where I am now, and I went to school with him and that, and I went to college with Tikka84, but neither of them post very often.

I am sure there are one or two others but I cant think of them off the top of my head.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same hence I always mention it in passing to see if there's any secret urban posters among my mates.

I usually get met with confusion though.

Met loads on meet ups, and introduced Annierak to this place after seeing her for a few months. Didn't know anyone when I first joined though

i think i met you once, a looonnnng time ago, at some drinks for hatboy's birthday :hmm:

I think I met you when I went to the hob once to beg some money off my mum. She went "jish is Milesy! He's brilliant, say hello to him! I love him I do" and I was terrified. I did meet ChristFilter at a pub, was was standoffish for some stupid teenaged reason and am ashamed to this day.

Until the welsh meet I'd only met one and that was to um knock boots as they say in America. That didn't work out too good in the end.

Have since met a load at the Welsh meet, which was great, well it should be i organised it :p
(Didn't knock boots with any of em i should add)

Hope to make it to an offline one day to meet some more but haven't managed it yet.

Have none of my real life mates on here as quite frankly i don't want them on here and always refuse to give them the addy.

Met loads and have become friends with a few .

For anyone who is considering it but is scared, urban meets are always very friendly - ime anyway.

Altho VP is right, some of them do smell.

ETA - knew no-one on here before going to meets and have introduced no-one I know irl.

Know a couple here who I consider to be friends and one of them is them is fuckin' sublime, I wouldn't trade her for a blowjob from a choir boy.

I know Xanadu because we are in a band together. He has told me about the real life meetings too so I hope to get to know more of you :)

I know Rad Nance, The Doctor, Red Jezza and Final all from living in the same area. Haven't met anyone else, that I know of anyway.

I know a few - one or two from *whisper it* real life (before I started posting on here), a few more from subsequent meetings in wretched hives of scum and villainy.

I've met quite a few people on here through various meetups. Go out for drinks occasionally with those who live locally.

Oh, and the occasional trip to London for drinks - although that's mostly with people who post on MATB.

Everyone I know on urban, I've met via u75 meet-ups, starting with the few of us in the Hull area a few years ago and then broadening out from there. I've met a few people through here who are now among my closest friends in real life.

There are three exceptions. One is that a few years ago I discovered to my shock that someone I'd been talking to about the boards in real life for ages had registered and started posting, and did so for six months before telling me. That's winterinmoscow, who I should know 'cos she happens to be my sister! :D The second is Jeff, my ex-boyfriend, who I introduced to the boards, but he only posts very occasionally. The third is Dovydaitis, who I used to work with and who me and doggy press-ganged onto u75.

I have met one person off here who i can safely say is one of my best friends and ive also had the pleasuer to meet his lovely partner as well from here!!!

Met quite a few urbs to date- none more shocking than a beaming dub- i was expecting him to growl!!!!!

About a Dozen, some through here whom I met at festivals and one or two who are friends of friends, and one or two who are friends of friends who I will probably meet this year at some point.

I've discovered 2 people I know IRL lurk on here and another that knows of it, if not the boards..

Other than that I've met 1,2, lots, since joining that I therefore know 'through urban'.

I've introduced one person but I don't know why I bothered.

I introduced one, but he just lurks, and looks at the lolcat thread, any lousy joke threads, and community. I think. It feels odd knowing that I have a lurker, though. It's not really like a stalker, but it is still weird.
