how many songs are there about you?

Nick the Stripper by The Birthday Party. Not great. I suffered greatly when "Oh Micky you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind" came out as well.

Few Jennys (although I hate being called Jenny) – Jenny from the Block (eeugh), Jenny was a Friend of Mine (The Killers)

Jennifers – Jennifer Eccles, Jennifer Juniper and my favourite Jenifa Taught Me (Del a Soul) …’she was known as garden tool’….oh the laughs at school with THAT one :D

Yup:

I mean with your name in the title. Only two i know are

Tell Laura I Love Her
Laura by the Scissor Sisters

I like the 2nd one although they seem to stop saying my name after the first verse.

The first one reminds me of when i was 3 and went to the New Forest, this bloke who worked there kept singing it to me even though i hid behind my mum and dad whenever he did it. They all laughed at my fear.

(This thread s kind of dependent on not minding giving your real name i guess)

I think Fields of the Nephilim had a song called Laura, or maybe it was an LP.

I can only think of one with my name in, by The Fall.

*waits for the guessing to begin*

lmao off. Thanks :) Never heard of that one!!

No sound though at work, curses!

Not a bad song as it goes... if you can forgive it for being "of a certain period" (which ain't easy)... The opening line is great and it gracefully deteriorates from there.

Nirvana used to cover it so it's not just my bizarre tastes etc. It's someone else's as well. Kurt's.

I only know one and it wasn't about me, it was about a painting ;)

Done by Nat King Cole, Elvis, Willie Nelson and Bruddah Iz

Slick Rick and Britney have also done a song with the same title...

i'd be surprised. i'm called Hugo :(

I've got a feeling there may have been a Hugo in an Australian 1980s Kentucky Fried Chicken advert...

Ahem:

You have no one to thank but me etc.

Actually quite a few according to allmusic (or maybe there's a lot of covers of one song) which all seem to be Latino, not wholly suprisingly.

Shitloads probably, for my name is Jack. Although all I can think of at the moment are Happy Jack by the Who and 'Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts' by a certain Bob Dylan...
