my god the issue of the sodding Week rears it's head again. One, end of.

Given the absolute shitstorm over the weekend, let's deal with the underlying concept once and for all.

A) Racialising = dividing up people and labelling them into different and separate "races"

B) Racism = hatred and discrimination based someone's 'race' label.

Everyone on u75 seems to agree that B) is wrong/evil/unacceptable etc. and I agree.

What I have a very serious issue with is that people do A) all the time, and see nothing either i) illogical, ii) factually wrong or iii) morally wrong with doing so.

However IMO B) is an extension of A) and A) is a function of B).

In other words, once you have gone through the process of A) then some aspects of B) follow along with it and historicaly and even now the process of A) reflects the prejudices of B).
