wth the cost of games these days most fans simply cant afford it

i got the villa about 6 times a year and try and squeeze in an away game... i cant afford any more... if i can go see a reserve game when im not busy i will and any cut price game si'l be there.. but im just priced out of every game.
i g out my way to find pubs with foreign feeds and dodgy net sites so i dont miss a single kick and i dont feel im any less of a fan because i cant make every games.... in fact i know season ticket holders that car less about the team

Its actually impossible to get tickets to see west ham play without at least a club membership, unless you want to see blackburn or bolton anyway.

Until this year, probably 30 per season. This season, I really want to make it to none. I hate my club....but I love them so.

I don't deny that these sadsacks exist, but they should be about as respected as the kind of blue-rinsed suburbanites who wept buckets over Princess Di's death or tweens who rang up the Take That hotline in floods of tears after Robbie quit the band.

It's just a bit weird to be that passionate about a side you only ever watch on the telly. Get off your arse, turn off the sky telebox and go and engage with real fans down the ground.

Everyone into football in Ireland, north and south, adopts an English team to support cos that's what we get on telly. What's so fucking sadsack about that? If you ever saw irish League or LoI matches then you;d want to have another team besides Dungannon Swifts or Dundalk.

I went to Manchester Uni as that was the best way of getting to see City whilst in our town there was a Man Utd Supporters Club who made regular trips to the pigsty.

i support a crap(ish) local team. i've got no desire to support liverpool, man utd, arsenal or any other sack of shit in the premiership that has no connection to where i'm from. what's so different in ireland that makes them all want to support one of our clubs? :confused smilie:

Exactly. Besides, i pay money for sky, i can watch it if i fucking like, thanks.

Get to a few a season, really can't afford it at mo unfortunately. Fingers crossed I'll be back full-time next season though.

Had loads of season tickets in the past mind, even had one when we were in the 3rd Div in the 80s.

who's telling you you can't watch it on sky? :confused smilie:

People like tarranau, calling anyone who has sky names like a little kid would at school or something. I don't need someone to tell me how to watch football, i enjoy it, that's what matters to me. Like i said though, i have plans for the future for going to the games.
