How many different London areas have you lived in?

Brick Lane, Tooting, Streatham, Catford, Brixton, Waterloo, Peckham, Camden, Tower Hill, Hoxton. In that order, since 1991. Catford was, I'm afraid to say, a low point. At that point there was very little in the way of entertainment there and no chance of a seat on the train in the morning. Taken me back a bit, thinking of all those mad flats, houseshares etc back in the 90s.

Grew up in DA7 which I know is technically Kent but we had a 0208 phone number so in my head it counts :p

Then to NW10

Then SE1

Then SW9 and its been pretty good, we like it here

Knightsbridge
Maida Vale
Finsbury Park
Lewisham
Stockwell
New Cross
Kennington
Camberwell Green
Myatt's Field

SW9 (Brixton), SW16 (Streatham), SE24 (Herne Hill), SW2 (Brixton). Four postcodes in 30+ years of London living.
:hmm:

To be fair I was born around here, my parents are still local despite moves (Mitcham) and I've been back and forth to different unis and pub jobs across London in the past. It's just where I prefer to end up.

Balham
Willesden
Vauxhall
Battersea/Clapham border (makes me sound like an estate agent. I lived there YEARS).
Brockley

In no order whatsoever...

West Hampstead
Belsize Park
Fulham
Earls Court
Notting Hill Gate
Ladbroke Grove
Shepherds Bush
Hammersmith

Stoke Newington (twice)
Wood Green
Swiss Cottage
Tottenham
Brixton
Brick Lane
Fulham Broadway
Notting Hill Gate
Fulham south
Earls Court
Ladbroke Grove
Kings Cross
Tufnell Park

SW9 (Brixton), SW16 (Streatham), SE24 (Herne Hill), SW2 (Brixton). Four postcodes in 30+ years of London living.

Yeah, I reckon if you're born in London you've probably had fewer addresses...

SW8 - Stockwell/South Lambeth Area, where I was brought up as a wee nipper.
SW9 - North Brixton/Vassall Road Area.
SW2 - Brixton Hill Area.
SW16 - Streatham, slap bang in the middle where I currently reside.

shepherds bush w12 (where i grew up)
camberwell se5
morden - so god awful i have forgotten the postcode
old kent road se1
bermondsey se16
borough se1

Winchmore Hill N21 (0-23, excluding university) - Grew up there. Dull but pleasant, and was basically pretty lucky to grow up there.

Walthamstow E17 (23-28) - Bought my first house, still own it with tenants living there since late 2004. Loved it, but gsv didn't want to live there.

Wimbledon SW19 (28-29.5) - Rented a place 'cos gsv was working in Surrey. Didn't love it. OK, but waaay overpriced and overrated. Plus the flat had slugs.

Finchley N3 (29.5 - ) - Bought a place with gsv. Is very good place for nearness to our families and other stuff, though I'd still have been happy enough (and much, much better off!) in the 'Stow.

Haringey, Islington, Wandsworth

I lived in Ealing for a month, so that's the West bit done with, never lived East.

I prefer Sarf :) even though I lived North for about 18 years.

Erm..

Holland Park
Northfield
Sudbury
Stratford
Holloway
Burnt Oak
Kingsbury
Angel
Wembley
Elephant and castle
Tooting
Crystal Palace
Bermondsey
Walworth
Camden
Battersea
Tottenham
Camberwell

I think that's it. :)

so those of you who have looooong lists of places in London, have you ever lived anywhere else other than the smoke?

and would you go back? or move out of london to elsewhere?

i am nosey :)

I lived in Leicestershire for 14 years, too young to judge.
nr Henley-on-Thames for 4 years, nice area, convenient for London, but very expensive.
Melbourne, Australia, for a few months - loved it, would move back in a flash.

My next move, in 5 years or so, will be to the countryside just outside of London. As near in as Warlingham, or as far out as Otford. As long as it has quick and regular links into London I don't mind.

currently i live in walthamstow. before that i have lived in:

streatham
brixton
clapton
stoke newington
homerton
mile end

i think my next move might be a bit further east. south woodford is nice and tbh i am getting a bit sick of "edgy" urban grime. dog shit and weekly stabbings just don't do it for me so much any more.

Lee High Road SE? dont remember the post code 1 year
followed by short stays sofa surfing in
deptford, tulse hill and hackney
Homerton E9 - right next to the station 2 years
Well street common/victoria park E9 - right next to the common 14 years

now attempting to move to tulse hill or thereabouts to be near my beloved - please tell me its a good place to live?
