eighteen months, and love it would be going too far, but definitely positive overall.

many many annoyances, but you get them everywhere, and the pro's (proximity to home, beinhg able to amble in pretty much when I like, the fact that the work IS interesting!) quite easilly outweigh them.

Nearly 2 years and I'm leaving in 2 weeks!! WOOOOOOOOO :D :D

I've hated it here. It's a joke of a job really. Never anything proper to do, stuck in a cupboard of an office on my own, or with my boss peering over my shoulder. I often come in late, take long lunch breaks or leave early.
Which I'm sure sounds great to lots of people, but it's not what I want to be doing. I want to have work to do, i want to be challenged, to have responsibilities, to feel like I've actually achieved something out of my day.
Hopefully my new job will enable me to do all these things!

that's how i felt/feel about my life, too. have finally given up hope of my day job delivering on this tho, so am doing open university courses in lunchtimes, evenings etc, which mollifies me somewhat by actually using my brain.

My friend works for Shelter, and she earns shit loads!

yeh, they pay well, hence why i'm still here :( i know many people who hate the place but haven't moved on precisely because other charities don't dish out as much in wages.

hehe, can't believe i'm moaning about being paid a decent salary! it's political correctness gone mad! or something.

exactly the same sort of realisation i had yesterday! will be starting some sort of OU course in the near future. can't wait!

I have been working for nearly 10 years at the place I am now and 6 years with my previous company, I love my job and always have done, if I don't like what I am doing or the company I work for them I leave, there is no way I am going to spend so much of my time doing something that I don't enjoy

1 week, yes.

I was touched when onenameshelley told me I was doing a really good job, she seemed proud :)

It is hard work in a way and it's something completely new for me and at times it is quite stressful but then it is also rewarding and enjoyable :)

Love my job even though it's a nightmare sometimes (previously addressed under-staffing problems etc). I could do with a promotion though.

it is SO worth it, believe me :) you won't regret it, whether you're doing it just out of interest for the subject or with a longer term goal in mind.
(i was up til past midnight last night working out various confusing maths equations - and actually ENJOYING it - and i fucking HATE maths!!  :D  )

I agree 100%. I studied with the OU for three years in fields totally unrelated to my career. I loved every minute even the mad dash to to get essays in before the deadline.

Have only been in my current role since April 1st and I do like it, I have a great quality of life and am never ever ever stressed from work, busy, but never stressed. I can even work from home (thank you broadband). There's massive scope for movement so with a little forward thinking there is a world of possibilities. The best thing about this role is the exposure I receive, as long as I perform, so it's all good baby. I'm only gonna stay in this role for a year in total tho'.
