Regarding how long he'll stay - summer 2007 I think, so he can get his 10 years in. Sometime after that he'll probably move to his natural home in the Tory Party.

I am, and I think it shows a level of (I presume unconscious) misogyny which pervades this forum. I presume that most of you are boys or men. I seriously doubt if many of you would dare to use such language in real life, at least in mixed company. Why not impose a bit of self control?

I'm not so sure of this. I think they're arrogant enough to think they can just swap Brown for Blair and claim that there is a significant difference between them.

As long as dodgy union-hating millionaires are still willing to hand them massive bungs under the table to pay for expensive targetted PR campaigns in key marginals, I reckon it might actually work too.

This is someting that fascinates me. On the one hand, I think it's highly likely that Brown and Blair are two sides of the same coin, playing the usual good cop bad cop, so that when Brown gets in, nothing changes. But on the other hand, I don't really know what Brown's like, and it's equally possible that he's not part of the newo-liberal consensus, or whatever it is, and that Blair and others are very worried about him succeeding, and are willing to do a lot of maneouvring to stop it happening, i.e. Blair hangs on long enough to really screw things up for the Labour party, and hand Cameron an easy election victory over Brown. I would really like some solid info on Brown's politics.
