How to ruin chips - gravy and the MRM tube of abattoir waste.

Then throw it in the bin. From memory, I think you'll find that they're a "bit" like sprouts at Christmas - you can never get them on soon enough and boil for long enough - as a general rule of thumb (and using your thumb AS A RULE in this case is exactly what you should do) it's "about" one week's rolling boil for each inch of the saveloy - remember "longer IS better" particularly when it comes to cooking

Please can everyone stop saying boiled. You don't boil haggis, or saveloy, or frankfurters. You bring the water to the boil then turn the heat down and simmer them.
If you boil any of the above you are going to end up with a bland mess.
Simpler to get them already cooked from the chippy. They’re lovely, much tastier than the jumbo sausages which also have gristle risk.

I've seen the breakfast thread. I don't trust you on food.I eat chips properly - none of that gravy muck here. Or god forbid, curry sauce. Only bloody weirdos ruin their chips with that filth.![]()

Anyone who doesn't like chips and curry sauce pretty much excludes their opinions on food from consideration. Add to that the saveloy hating![]()

Well you say that but curry sauce wasn't common in chippies down here when I were a lad. It's still not available everywhere. I thought that was a northern thing. Gravy on chips certainly is.T You're a southerner so obviously allowances must be made for your ignorance.![]()

Like a more spicy peppery frankfurter. They should be awful but they're actually pretty nice.I'm also thinking that I don't ever remember eating a Savoy. I mean they sound grim, but I like most sausages, so really feel like I should have at least tried one.

Oh and saveloys are lush. Never had one before I moved to London. My love of sausages I believe is well known.

Yeah I've never seen them in the north but they are good. If you like a northern chippy battered sausage, you'll like them. Completely different thing but the same level of filthyNext time I see one in a chippy I shall buy one. Although I live in the North, so apparently they are less common. Next time I'm visiting my home town I shall look out.

I draw the line there....Never mind shit, you've pissed on our chips on this thread.
Gravy, yes of course.what is your take on gravy n shit on chips?

So am I. Watch your back now.But you're from Cleethorpes - so you know nowt.![]()

Savoy is a type of cabbage. Saveloy is a type of shitty sausage fit only for the bin.I'm also thinking that I don't ever remember eating a Savoy. I mean they sound grim, but I like most sausages, so really feel like I should have at least tried one.
Im south and agree with you entirely. There's nowt wrong with my breakfasts - eating a kilo of veg at the crack of dawn is completely normal.
Chips should only come with scraps, salt and vinegar - and no glutinous slop. You're a southerner so obviously allowances must be made for your ignorance.![]()
