When he was coming out on stage last night, I was holding my breath thinking 'please don't shoot him. Please don't shoot him'.
But then I relaxed, and the thought came, 'no, it's not going to happen'.
I reckon Obama's got a good chance of surviving - the Secret Service seem pretty good at their jobs and they managed to protect Bill Clinton from all the post-Waco loons who must have been gunning for him.
There's undoubtedly plenty of white supremacist types itching to trigger a race war by assassinating Obama, but the US government's likely got most of them under surveillance already. With the Patriot Act in effect, the government probably knows when, where, and how often they shit, and which chapter of the Turner Diaries they read on the shitter.

race issues aside, think about how hated bush is, if no one had a go at HIM, i dont see why they should obama, well thats what i like to think anyway...hopefully we'll be able to relax and not think of that every time we see obama...plus i reckon his security will be of epic proportion.

The security service is too good. no public appearance or journey happens without the entire area being mapped out and covered by the ss weeks before, and when he finally arrives, any areas are crawling with security.

He didn't go forward & shake hands with any of the audience after his speech either did he? I guess that's why.

I was talking to someone from the Secret Service last week and he said the FBI were all dinks.
I get the feeling it is pointless to address a rational question in this direction, but I'll give it a go anyway. Why in the name of God do you imagine the CIA would want to kill Obama?
