i have taken 'mental health' days before and occasional hangover related absences.. but latest i've actually made it in is only two or three hours.. (after that what's the point?)
in my last week or so at deutsche bank one day i came in at 10am, the next at 10:30 and the day after at 11am
finally the boss said 'why are you so late?'
my reply was 'because i really can't make myself care anymore'
he didn't respond
i didn't come in at all for the last four days and they had HR pestering me for a bit.. didn't matter cos i'll never need a reference from them
On Tuesday I arrived at work at 3pm, instead of the usual 9am. I thought that was quite impressively late. But then I get paid by the hour, so it was an expensive lie-in.
I'm never late for work . Since I have a 4 mile walk ( and most of it is uphill ) I like to get in about 30 minutes early and have a sit down and coffee before I start work !
a week.
Boss: did you get my messages?
Me: yeah, god, just this morning! my phone hasn't been working (shuffle shuffle)
Me: I did say I was away for two weeks, right?
I was half an hour late this morning because my alarm clock stopped during the night and then started again. I woke up and was about to go back to sleep, thinking it was 5am, and then the OH told me it was actually 6.45 -- the time I normally leave when I'm on the 0730 shift!!
I feel very out of sorts as a result. I hate being late.
