Or the *really happy and am gonna try to dance but will end up looking like Bobby Gillespie after a stroke* option?

Hold on.. Bobby already dances like that.... :D

It can make me childishly happy, like this afternoon when I was reading a news website with the first Ash album in the background and me waving my arms about deleriously to "Angel Interceptor". Then I could stick Johnny Cash's "Hurt" on and basically start crying within 2 minutes. That's the beauty and range of good music I guess.

there are some songs that make me think deeply about stuff and feel a little sad, but mostly I jump about like a mad woman :)

Well yes, of course it depends on those factors, but the fact that it touches you in ways that you need, surely gives you a sense of satisfaction, so not a silly question at all. Satisfaction is a form of happiness

Satisfaction is not happiness though. Satisfied is more of a "that will do" type statemeant where as happy is much more intense.

And anyway music may get you into the mood you think you need to be in weather its anger/hate/love or whatever but none of these emotuions may be what you actully need to be happy.
