I was having a bad week and its cheered me up no end.

The very thought that I can watch the competition without the english biased national media placing their entire emphasis on england is delightful. No eight page spreads about england two weeks on the trot etc. Hurrah!

Unbiased coverage of a major competition. Its going to be amazing. So looking forward to Euro 2008 now.

I’m even glad Scotland and Wales are out as we’d have had that patronisingly infuriating media phenomena where us celts are all of a sudden referred to as British all the time because england are out.

When the english biased national press start treating the home nations equally maybe then I’ll start giving england some support. Ain’t going to happen any time soon though is it?

Quite pleased in a way, because I now know I can watch top international football next summer without fear of bias at all.

Also, it may hopefully remove the myth that good for club = good for country. I'm not disputing Gerrard and Lampard's ability domestically, but last night confirmed for me that they're not international class players, simply because its such a different game. At half time I was begging that they were both taken off for Hargreaves and Defoe, moving Barry out to the left and playing 4-4-2. Hargreaves and Cole in the middle may have drawn the Croatian defence out a bit and created some space for Defoe's pace from Crouch's knock-downs.
