How do you pay for things?

I don’t even use the machines in the launderette (service wash) so fuck knows why they insist on cash.

...having recently changed employer, and new place has one of these employee discount schemes where you can pre-load gift cards at 5 percent (or thereabouts) off, so i'm tending to do regular food shopping on them....

I've recently started a job that comes with Perkbox, I saw that lets you buy discount vouchers but seeing as I'm currently skint, didn't thing I'd have much use for it as I'm not planning to buy clothes etc and it hadn't occurred to me to use it to do regular shopping, will check out what stores are available, thanks.

Parking last week, the free slots were all gone so I went to the carpark where the machine wanted a minimum of 20p for half an hour, I started with a 10p followed by a 5p and then realised I couldn't make up the 20p in silver and it didn't take coppers and wouldn't print a ticket for 15p .. swearing at the machine I had to put a quid in to get any sort of a ticket at all.

Not a happy bunny.

And when I was leaving there were no arrivals for me to gift my ticket to which also wrankled.

I often have a bit of blutack in my bag for sticking day saver bus tickets or tram tickets to machines/bus stops after I've finished with them.

I don't think there was, at least no signs for it, just a small council car park behind some shops.

I always pass on car park tickets with any time left on them to someone else if I can. The spot is paid for, insisting on someone buying a new ticket is effectively them selling the same thing twice

I have heard of a council requiring you to input your car registration number so that we won't be able to pass on tickets. Grumpy council I would say !!

I used to always pass on car park tickets, but the car-parks here are pay on exit now, the cameras put your car reg into the system on entry, so you need that to pay before leaving.

On street parking are still 'pay & display', no car reg required, but I only use them for very brief stops, so tend to just pay for 20 minutes, so bugger all time left on them, to make it worthwhile to pass on.

Phone. But my cards in the back of my phone case should I ever run out of battery. I’ve not used cash for over a year. I don’t really understand why anyone would use cash unless they had to.

Where i work (medium sized supermarket) it's still very cash heavy and has been all through the lockdown
