I think the filter over mug is the best taste... but you know what? I've been looking for the plastic thingy for years now, without finding one... and seeing as it's just a bit of poxy plastic I haven't mounted a special finding expedition :(
Don't you find though doing it that way means that by the time you've got a mugful it's only luke warm not piping hot? I heat my mug up with boiling water then pour that away before filling it up with coffee out the Bialetti that way you've got hot coffee that stays hot for a good while :)

These stove top expresso machines are sounding great - got to try one out.

Home: cafetiere / stove top turkish coffee style thing - with freshly ground beans (so much better than already ground) :p

Work: instant :(

But you've got a stove-top one BB  Or is the Turkish one different to the pics I put up somewhere up ^^^^^^^ there?

I voted cafetiere and coffe shop, but I forgot ... I do have one of those Bialetti things too. I usually take it to festivals so I can have espresso in the morning :D ahhh decadence

that is if I can of course be arsed getting the thing out, lighting the stove, filling it with coffee in the middle of a field and getting coffee everywhere, putting water in it, waiting for ages and ages and ages and ages and ending up with undrinkably hot espresso and worse realising I have nothing to drink it out of... so usually I just wander off and find a cafe instead :o

Turkish coffee made in one like this
Water and fine grounds mixed together and heated... always lots of crap left at the bottom. My nan used to turn it over and claim to be able to read the pattern (kind of like tea leaves) - kept us entertained! :)

Very strong, quite different to normal coffee/espresso, but good. It's usually ground with cardamon (or is it cardamom?), which gives it a nice aftertaste. :p More than happy to send you some (struggling to get through the 2kg in my freezer!)

Cafetiere, my espresso machine got scaled to death ages ago.

QUOTE]
If you have a wine making/home brewing shop near you get some citric acid. Put it into your machine with some water, and repeat until de-scaling is complete. I use this method on mine and I've now been using the same machine for over ten years.

Make sure you rinse the machine well before making coffee. The citric acid is a 'mild' organic acid, and is food grade so is safe.
