I like Lady Vengeance and Oldboy equally... Different sides of the same coin, both amazingly shot, both fulfilling tales in their own ways.
The shock-value of Oldboy makes up for what it lacks in beauty, and the beauty of Lady Vengeance makes up for what it doesn't have in terms of stomach churning "wrong" (not that there isn't plenty!), IMO.

i seriously do think the 'sympathy' stories are overrated drivel.
and it's got nothing to do with korean cinema - cos i do like narrative pace in most of their mainstream films.

I've only ever watched them all once, but I would say Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Old Boy, then Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

However, if I watched them again, I might change my mind
