How do you know if your cars leaded or unleaded?

Ooh! That would potentially make it go faster too! :)

I've always thought it was a bit tardy, got it up to 180km+ but I would have thought a 1.8 turbo should go faster than that, especially because the speedo dial goes up way higher.

p.s. what was your car Downward Dog?

2001 Jaguar XK8 Convertible.

E2A: I air freighted it from Bahrain to East Midlands (I didn't have to pay as I was driving) but I had to pay car tax, import duty. Had an endless faff on with Jaguar to get it modified and it still ended up on a Q plate as it wasn't an EU model. By the time I was finished I was sick of the fucking thing and sold it to my pikey cousin for 2 grand.

Oh, the sales manager of the Saab place here (which is affiliated to Jaguar in some way, the same company owns the franchise for both or something), said that a former British manager exported a Jaguar back to the UK okay with some modifications (I presumed headlamps and the readings on the dials, which are in km and should be in mph and stuff).

Volkswagen switched that early because they sold a lot of cars in America. The Americans went almost entirely unleaded in the early 70s due to health concerns. My mum had a '73 Malibu that took unleaded and that was standard for almost all cars that year.

I've actually found it noticeable, with the decline of leaded petrol and the better diesel emissions standards, that the air has been better in the past 10 years here.
