How do you eat?

as soon as his food turned up he sprang to attention with his knife and fork upright, he ate a big fuck off full breakfast in about three minutes:eek: seriously, Ive never seen someone shovel it down with such vigour.

Probably one of 12 children and from a poverty stricken background.

I eat too fast as well - sometimes I get hiccups. I know I should slow down and I've tried, but it's hard to break the habit of a lifetime.

I used to eat faster than most ppl i know, but ive learnt to slow it down over the years...not as slow as my parents mind you, theyre too slow...wheres the fun in eating it when its gone cold???

So basically you wish to gain knowledge of how other people consume edible matter? I eat fast enough to ensure that the last mouthful is still hot, slow enough to enjoy the flavour.

So what you are basically saying it that you eat at a moderate pace:p

It is annoying.....but:D too Bro

As a mother I got used to eating/drinking cold things. I don't really enjoy food that much so it doesn't really bother me if it's cold.

I think I eat at a normal pace but my son is similar to Crispy and his inhalation.

Yeah, I think it first started when you posted a longish thread about your day at the allotment, and I said 'so basically you did some gardening and had a spliff' :p It wasnt even funny! And it still isnt!!!

I remember it well, tail end of last summer, ya fucker:)

I eat too fast.

I'm making risotto tonight so am going to eat it with chopsticks to slow myself down.

Hello Melinda! I was thinking about you this morning :) Hope all is well (apart from your guzzling partner).
*waves!*
Im fine! How are you, you seem on terrific form!

Somehow Ive been inexplicably shy to post since Christmas! Getting my mojo back now though!

Ive just done a lovely carbonara which was wolfed down (including 2nds) in about 4 mins.

I like to eat with my hands wherever possible, esp with salads and the like. I eat slowly, and like to stay at the table for ages. It's weird because my brother is a vacuum monster, as is my da. They both tell me off for eating with my hands (I am NEVER messy) yet to me diving in for seconds when someone else isn't even half way through their firsts is the height of rudeness. I guess whatever floats yer boat though.

Me too. It's a mixture of too much talking, and I like to savour my food.

The weird thing is, I don't even talk much while I'm eating and I'm still snail's-pace slow. If I do talk, a plate of food can take me as long as an hour to finish :o Even when I think I'm positively wolfing it down, I'm actually not.

I eat disgustingly quickly - and not in a lady-like way at all. No time to talk, I like warm/hot food! :o :D :(

I'm learning to put my knife and fork down in between mouthfuls though, and it makes a nice meal last longer :)

I eat at different speeds, depending on how much time I've got.

As for taking food off your partner or friends, IMHO nicking a chip is fair play (as long as you don't mind yours being nicked), but more than that is pushing your luck.

Ditto I wouldn't cadge a sip of somebody's drink or bite of sandwich - but might accept if they offered - and that's the difference.

If you've only got 2 eggs left, you haven't eaten and he wants an omlette, make one, then cut it in 2 and put half on your own plate, job's a good un.:D
