How do you dress?

i am currently dressing very boring. always jeans, then normally a black vest, then either a grey, purpe or black thin jumper for work, and either a bluegrey or black hoodie for slouching. boring! :(

pretty scruffy really, they have a quite casual attitude at work at the moment, so i wear scruffy levis, doc martens, and a grey or brown hoodie most days tbh, just change the top under the hoodie, and wear thermal underwear if it's chilly...

however, there is a new sheriff in town, and i think she wants to smarten us up:( i had to buy some work trousers the other day as i have to go to some away day and she wants everyone smart:(

i look good in a suit:cool: i only have one suit at the moment, a linen suit bought for a wedding last year, i need another one though, thinking of looking around for a different job soon...

but when i have had to wear a suit to work, hated it:(

I have that picture :o

My husbands workplace go for the smart/casual which means all the lovely, expensive ties we bought together don't get worn.. yesterday he said he would wear them if I made him..

So I shall crack the whip, metaphorically speaking.

Suits are sexy.. :o

:eek:Heavens no! I was a goth, many moons ago, but my clothing is in no way related to it now (apart from in colour). There are no frills, corsets, leather, black lace or any somesuch. *fuB wishes she had 'shudder' smilie*

bloody hellfire, it's fuBganger... how long have you been back with us?

Black office trousers, black jacket, black T shirt for work. Servicable, dullish, infinitely forgettable and faintly untidy. I have yet to achieve any measure of grooming successfully.Very occasionally go mad and wear grey.

Out of work, jeans, black tops, leather or denim jackets. Lots and lots of boots. I never look any different, no matter what I wear. Can never figure out colours, or what suits me, so long stopped trying.

As you were.

I think we have the same stylist.

Today, I will be wearing black trousers (if they are out the tumble dryer in time) and a bright green, short sleeved jumper, with stripes in a band across the chest.

Will have to check how cold it is outside, before deciding whether to put a long sleeve top or poloneck underneath it..

today i am wearing thick black tights, black calf length boots, a denim pencil skirt below the knee length, black long sleeved top, a beige cap sleeved wooly tank top with a fair isle pattern (white, purple and black colours) around the neckline.
big wooly cardigan for outerwear as its not cold out at all.
gloves necessary because i've got bad circulation ((((circulation))))

I decided not to go with the jumper

In fact, I'm gonna take it back tomorrow and get my money back. If I can find the receipt.

But I did buy some clothes in Fenwicks sale, yay!

I love tank tops :o

Mostly raw denim - currently got four pairs on rotation. Tops can either be v-neck sweaters, teeshirts and hoodies, casual shirts, denim jackets and a different smuvva most days (parka, m65/military outerwear, or flying jackets). I've also got a bit of a sad trainer habit and sometimes boots (shitkickers, RedWings, old Timberlands or Chelsea boots). City slick bespoke suits - only for rare meetings. I really don't work at my appearance but whatever I put on seems to look OK.

I have been told that I dress like a married woman and that if I ever want to attract a man I'll have to sex it up a bit (  :( )

In my yoof I was ashamed of my size 16 hourglass figure and thought I was a fatso. I covered it up in baggies and ended up looking like a humungus tent!! Now days I squeeze into clothes that accentuate the curves, especially round the waist. Fitted is a good look for curvy ladies but best avoided with short skirts or it gets too slaggy.

What do/would people say about how you dress?
Do you make a conscious effort to attract men/women or to express your personality via medium of fabric? What makes you want to buy the things you do?

Men and women seem to like it I get compliments from both genders.

Your expressing your feeling about yourself with how you dress. Unconfident people hide away in loose fitting dull clothes whatever size they are.

I buy things when they look good. The cut the fabric and the fit all have to be right though ocasionally I get the garment adjusted if its something I really want and the fit isnt right.

do you think so? there are people who truly dont care what they wear. one artcle of clothing is as good as any other, they dont pay any attention to it so long as it serves it purpose. does that mean they have self esteem issues or they just bypass the issue of image altogether?

I dont think everyone who wears boring clothes lacks confidence but I do think everyone who lacks confidence wears boring clothes. Goes with the territory init?

At work, I'm off suits: mostly sport coats. Outside work, I dress for max comfort: shorts, sweats, jeans sometimes.
