how do i stop eating cheese?

If you have the genetics to digest cheese effectively, why the fuck would you ever wana stop eating it? Tis a sign of the Lord I tell ya!

Ha, this does actually remind me, I met a vegan dude once who in the fortnight before he became a vegan ate like 6kg of cheese. He said he had weird dreams... :D

When I get married I really want this cheese wedding cake

My partner only eats mild cheddar  so he can't have any but don't care-that's how bad the addiction is:hmm:

My friend Dave had that exact cheese cake at his wedding!

Why are people arguing above? This is

a) a thread about cheese not racism and swearing
b) you're in suburban, ffs.

It's a cross-thread thing. Garf used the N word and Dwyer is following him about the boards, like a dog that won't let go of a stick.

well...for the past couple of days i've replaced my cheese addiction with a houmous addiction. unfortunately, i'm not sure muching through a whole tub of houmous per 48 hours is any less fattening...:hmm:

Make your own houmous :) if you replace the chickpeas with shelled broad beans it's really nice too.

buy fat reduced cheese :) it works because it doesnt taste as nice, so you eat less of it , however i have now just become addicted to goats cheese ,cottage cheese and babybels, so its not a proven theory :(

go vegan  it's the only way I managed to deal with my butter addiction :o

I must admit, I came off the vegan wagon over crimbo and ate lots of yummy cheese, but have had to go back on to stop becoming a hippo.

The only way I can maintain or lose weight successfully is to not have anything in the house I can snack on. Even stuff like pitta breads (pitta breads FFS!), I can eat an entire pack of those toasted in one sitting. Only way is to not buy the stuff in the first place.

I have a very empty fridge.

Some words of warning to all you cheese lovers: five years ago I had to have my gall bladder removed. I spent a very painful few months prior to the operation, including a number of over night hospital stays, in which I lost about three stone and developed a tolerance to opiate pain killers. The consultant was bemused since I was not the expected gall stones type; he was however intereted in my 20 plus years of vegetariansim which had seen me consuming a lot of cheese, much of it cooked.

You have been warned - Louis (an ex-veggie) MacNeice

p.s. I'm still partial to a nice stilton Welsh rarebit.

Haha, I'm the same. Last night I had a midnight pitta bread and houmous snack
can't wait til essays get handed in so i can do some exercise too...

Either the cheese or the beer has to go, as the two are having a disastrous affect on my belly, the problem is I'm mostly veggie and get urges to consume protein, this is reduced only when I eat a lot of fish, its a tuff call love all those goey frenchieeses, not to mention Halummi

NUTS

Don't get me wrong I am not suggesting that you eat nuts as a source of tasty protein in place of cheese. No I am just saying 'Nuts'.

icky stuff, but a good reason not to eat cheese - (pus related. eeew!) http://www.satyamag.com/sept05/adams_cheese.html

Pus Anyone?
Despite the crowded conditions, accelerated production schedules and a multitude of growth hormones, dairy cows are continually milked even when suffering from severe udder infections called mastitis. More than half of U.S. dairy cows suffer from mastitis, a bacterial infection of their udders.

Because of mastitis, blood, pus and bacteria from the infection are routinely pumped out with the milk. One culprit causing the hundreds of millions of pus cells in every liter of milk may be Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) a synthetic often sold as Posilac. Posilac is extensively used by dairy farmers to boost the amount of milk their overworked cows produce, usually 100 pounds of milk a day—10 times more than they would produce naturally. Bovine growth hormone has been banned in many countries because of possible risks to consumers and adverse consequences to the health and welfare of cows.

I actually feel sick! :( Thanks tufty...this is exactly what I need. I assume this is UK practice too?

aye.

if you like your eggs, don't get me started :(
