My old flatmate only used to wear his when fresh out of the bath too. Unfortunately he didn't have a towel, making his dressing gown effectively one, and he had never washed it in the 3 years I'd known him. When he moved in with a girlfriend, she threw it out. The only sane thing she ever did.

I have a Guinness one that can get a bit musty.
Wife normally peels it off me when we get to that stage.

Mine is pretty much clean I think although it could be dusty as it's been under the bed for months :D

I only use it in the winter.

Mine is gross and is probably covered in all kind of bodily juices

There's also an old sweet stuck inside one of the pockets....I should really cut that out :o

Mines got snail trails of snot on it.

Havent washed it since before moving to Australia which was 4 years ago.

Ew

Probably filthy. It gets washed very rarely - only if it's noticeably smelly.

Mind you, it's lasted me over ten years: if I'd washed it more often, it'd be in pieces by now.

same as jamas, one should just walk around in underwear.

I disagree.

I always sleep in the buff, but for slouching round t'house, one needs proper slouching gear.

I often favour hoodie and trackie bottoms, but the dressing gown does come into play and - bless her - Mrs Swarf has just bought me a "onesie"/romper-suit style pair of pyjamas....complete with feet and button-down arse flap.

Weird! I can't imagine eating in anything but my clothes - it wouldn't feel right. I do get food on my clothes occasionally but it doesn't wreck them - you just wipe it off and pop it in the wash that night. I could do with a bib sometimes though - I wish I could get back into the habit of eating at the table again.

don't you have days where you don't get dressed?

that said - if i'm lounging i tend to stay in bed - dressing gown doesn't get worn often for any length of time. i'f i'm going to be sitting around i'll put on something soft. i'm currently wearing my massive snuggly hoodie. the problem with sitting around in my dressing gown is that my boobs might fall out the middle. i shared a house with an awful girl at uni who used to sit around all day smoking in her grubby velour dressing gown that didn't quite meet in the middle. i have a deeply entrenched fear of presenting a similar sight - even if there's no one but me to see it.

anyway. my white dressing gown has just been washed - but has marks on it - cos i wash everything at 30 degrees, which isn't quite hot enough to clean off any real dirt. they're marks on the back. I suspect makeup from when it was in my rucksack recently.

my bathrobe is massive. i use it instead of a towel after showers and baths. However it's a bastard to dry, so i confess it doesn't get washed as much as it should. mostly it only gets grubby with clean shower water (and skin cells, tbf :o) but i've had it donkeys' years and my low wash temperature has mean that there is a slightly disturbing buildup of dubious stains. many of which, i fear are blood.:o

i wouldn't want anyone to see it, and it's probably 10 years old and due a replacement, but it doesn't smell.
