Fat-bottomed girls? Anyone not cringing? Anyone still flying the flag of irony?

Something about wanting to ride one's bicycle? There's two more and I think you lot know many more than me...

I preferred Graham Norton's version of Bohemian Rhapsody too.

I was going to get to these. Hope you haven;t fogotten We've Got a Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It's version of Bo Ra

Did you see Live Aid when that was played?

Christ did I? And the worse thing was that in the evening I met up with a bunch of mates, two of who were big Queen fans and insisted on reliving it in every last embarrassing detail.

Long long ago I learned that Queen are a Marmite band - you either love 'em or hate 'em. The H8rs don't know what they're missing however - a well developed sense of irony, self-deprecation and fun.

queen did some great stuff - "fat bottomed girls" is a brilliant song.

but they played sun city. boo hiss.

still some fucking great songs though.

I believe I dubbed you that and it was only of Comestible, not Music.
You sir, are wrong about Queen. They were fantastic, but they were simultaneously awful. In a post-ironic kind of way. :p

I can add to that - you either hate them, love them, or you're me and you like about about 6 songs they did between 1975 and 1980.

Was there any need for that?
John Lennon
Vocals
Paul McCartney
Bass, Guitar
George Harrison
Guitar
Ringo Starr
Drums

I present to you The Beatles - have you heard of them?

Where's the "Worse even than the above" option?
The "Unutterably arse" option?
The "Every time I even think of Brian May's hair I have an uncontrollable urge to kill people" option?
I think they're awful, no amount of Bill'n'Ted is going to make me think anything they ever did has any quality.

They're one of those bands that make me really angry because so many people profess that they're good. Utterly baffling opinion.
I'm convinced people only listen to them for nostalgia or irony but justify it with some dirge about how genius they were.

Most of their songs make me want to hurl.

Pile of toss :p

Can I do the Polyphonic Spree?

I must confess I haven't been arsed to read this thread, but I have to stand up in defence of Queen!! Queen are brilliant and I say :p to anyone who disagrees.

There, now, you can't argue with logic like that. ;)

On a scale of Sting - Springsteen, Sting being really very bad indeed, Springsteen being so mindblowingly shite you wish you would die before the song finished.
You think Phil Collins is better than Bruce Springsteen?

Has Yoss seen this?

I have never seen Queen live (to answer the other thread).

But I have seen Fuzzbox. :o

Yes. In comparative terms. But we're way off the scale of "Would deserve to live if I was in charge of executions" here.
