It's funny how all this proper hard stuff tends to feature quite middle of the road / plain guys, while all the pop-punk stuff like Blink 182 always try to look really 'punky'

yeah, Showbiz is good. I remember seeing them support Skunk Anansie when I was about 17. Never heard of them before that.

And finally, Polyphonic Spree. Your first instinct upon seeing a picture may be to reach for your best hunting rifle, possibly considering getting back in the shuttle, getting off-site, and nuking it from orbit.
But my gods, I love them. I love them so much. And they do kick arse, but just in different ways than most of these bands mentioned here...

haha, yes, they do rather look like one is taking the other out for a nice walk...then we'll go and feed the ducks.
but in fact they're pretty seminal figures in the japanoise scene. I saw them in Tokyo a few years ago and they were utterly mental. Almost unbearably, painfully loud and smashed up their equipment and threw it about the venue at the end of their set, after - very unexpectedly - taking running stagedives into the crowd.
