House sold whilst still renting

Really? I thought it was so (that 24 hours notice was required) but my landlord frequently access the house I live in with no prior warning and when I complained he said that if it's a shared house then notice only has to be given if they access the bedrooms, not the communal areas.

then he's a lying twat basically...

you pay rent for the entire flat and have the right to peacable enjoyment of it any landlord fialing to abide by the rules will be liable to prosicution by the local council for harassment and beleive me it's one area all local councils love doing hard and fast... they take very badly to landlords dicking around...

Change the locks (keep old lock to be refitted when you leave)

Whatever your tenency agreement says about 24 hour written notice being required, the landlord HAS to obtain your consent to enter. In other words, you can keep the landlord out for as long as you wish, until they regain legal possession of the property.

Hence just do over the new owner, you have no contract with them so why not?

Sell the copper pipes! Flog the combi boiler! Sub let to filthy hordes!

I heartily endorse the spirit of this post. Serve them right for not sorting all this out legally during the sale process. It seems the tenants weren't consulted or even considered which is rude to say the least.
