Hourly rate for working in a shoe shop?

I got £1.04p per hour in my first job in a shoe shop - this was 1989, I was 14 and we worked 35-40 hours per week.

I've seen some shoe shop job adverts saying that their pay 'exceeds national minimum wage.' So just slightly more than I was being paid, then!

Well sell them a glass slipper ffs. :D

I've always liked that story. The Prince with the foot fetish gets to go and fondle all these womens feets saying he'll make them into a Princess if their feet fit the odd shaped glass slipper he's had made. Then he comes across Cinderella with the odd shaped feet...

The red shoes though, now that's a really horrible tale. I mean so she's a little vain. She likes her red shoes and they run off with her and she can't stop dancing so the wood chopper with a foot fetish says the only ting to do is chopp off your feets, and he does, and she spends the rest of her life in church on crutches repenting her previous vanity. While the wood chopper spends the rest of his years fondling her decaying feets. No wonder they caled them the Grimm bros.
